Artificial Intelligence Policy

  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) allows computers to perform tasks which would normally involve human intelligence. Machine learning is a type of AI whereby computers identify and learn from patterns within data, rather than being programmed to produce a particular output.
  2. Businesses are making increasing use of AI in their products, services and operations. MPA wishes to make use of appropriate AI tools in its business including in the provision of its services to clients.
  3. For example, MPA may from time to time use AI tools to:
    1. Record calls for the purpose of call analysis, including creation of a synopsis of or transcript of that call. MPA will inform clients at the beginning of any call in respect of which the use of an AI tool is intended to be used, and clients will have the option to agree to or decline call recording and/or use of AI call analysis. Call recordings and associated analysis and/or transcripts will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy;
    2. Assist in the drafting of documents;
    3. Generate reports.
  4. MPA is committed to the responsible use of AI tools, and to its continuing obligation to maintain the privacy and security of data. MPA will not:
    1. Input client personal data or confidential information into any AI tool used in the provision of services;
    2. Permit any AI tool to store data that is input by MPA, or to train or develop that tool;
    3. Use AI for the purpose of automated decision making or profiling in respect of individuals.
  5. AI is a rapidly developing field across all sectors. This policy will be updated from time to time to reflect relevant changes including to the legal and regulatory framework around the use of AI. MPA will make updated versions available to clients where MPA proposes to use any AI tools in the provision of its services to that client.
  6. If you have any concerns regarding the use of AI tools by MPA, please do not hesitate to contact privacy@mpa.co.uk.
